Help with the New Spirituality

Sometimes I wonder, how can we make Humanity Team's role in the New Spirituality more practical, more relevant?

I seem to struggle back and forth over this. Who are we? As an organisation, as a voice? I think promoting the New Spirituality, creating this space and allowing people the opportunity to grow themselves is wonderful and yet I also wonder, is there more that we could be doing - like what specifically would make the most change?

What can I do? What do I want to do?

And my thoughts go around and around. Does anyone have their thoughts to share?

Hey Stephen and happy new year to all,

I definitely think Humanity's Team is about creating the space for people to cultivate and evolve their understanding of the 'New Spirituality'. There's a good interview with Neale and Ken Wilber which must have been recorded not too long after Humanity's Team was set-up, and Neale talks about this exact topic.

As for making the most change through Humanity's Team... I get a bit stuck with this also!

As these ways of thinking still only represent a "cognitive minority", most 'normal' people confuse and reduce transpersonal spirituality (based on experience) to pre-personal religion (based on mythic belief systems). Both of which are important, but unfortunately I think the latter tends to instantly evoke images of either terrorists or Christian fundamentalists!

Therefore, the promotion of the New Spirituality becomes indeed quite tricky! I still have utmost faith that we're heading towards critical mass though

I think Spiritual practice in one's own life is incredibly important (meditation etc - so you're actually experiencing what you're reading/learning about and exploring). Making the effort to associate/socialise with like-minded people is another good way to nuture and explore these ideologies, and more and more I find that my being flows more naturally in to my work situation etc (ie when interacting with people who aren't necessarily spiritually minded).

Hello Dear friends Jared, Stephen and all,
I think you guys are doing all that needs be done, I think may be you guys are not aware of your own glory, I see it, and also all the people you guys touch with you presence in your waking hours and it has huge impact on the whole human collective. We are blessed to have your enthusiasm to make changes for better for us all. And yes, we are not far from reaching critical mass.. I know I can feel it..
